Those of you who follow us on social media may remember this lovely lady: our dear friend and client Betty Chantler. Betty ordered her first rocking horse as a gift for the nurse who had cared for her sister Joan before she passed away. An incredibly kind and lasting token of gratitude to be enjoyed for generations.

(Joan herself was a talented racehorse trainer and a friend of Stevenson Brothers Rocking Horses. She would regularly stop off at our carving workshop and fill the boot of her Saab with our offcuts for her fireplace in the winter).

Well, Betty has been back to the workshop and super-gifting again! This time for Roy and his family at The Wagon & Horses, her local pub in Charing. Betty has felt so warmly welcomed here for so many years and wanted to show her appreciation to the whole family.

This rocking horse is a replica of Betty's syndicate racehorse CRESCENT LAKE. Made in Oak, this rocking replica has our new closed mouth design along with the syndicate's colours and orange rubber racing reins.

CRESCENT LAKE (stable name, Terence) will live in the family's home and is already a huge hit with granddaughters Poppy & Evie, pictured below:
