We are currently working on this stunning FH Ayres horses in the rocking horse hospital. We've had to remove all the paint and take this horse right back to the wood, which is a great opportunity to show you all that antique rocking horses like this were all made from pine.
We will also be replacing an ear and fixing some broken teeth before repainting this beautiful horse and adding a new saddle, blanket and tack.
This is something we really love to do. Taking an old, usually very well loved, family rocking horse and giving it a new lease of life so it can rock on for another century!
I found the story about the rocking horse hospital really unique and creative. During a stressful time in my studies, I had to do my assignment for me so I could take a break and relax a bit.
