Paul McCartney Rocking for Alder Hey

World famous rock star Paul McCartney has signed a very special Stevenson Brothers rocking horse to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The rocking horse will be showcased at The Ultimate Christmas Fair in Liverpool later this month and sold at online auction via eBay. Bidding will start on Thursday 19th November and a link to the auction will be released on our website.

The bespoke rocking horse signed by Sir Paul McCartney was modeled on his own Appaloosa, Moonstar. We copied both his colourings and markings and Paul was impressed by the likeness and the craftmanship. The base of the horse features a handwritten lyric from the song ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ by the Beatles - “Rockin’ horse people eat marshmallow pies!" and there is a surprise from Paul contained within the secret locking compartment in the belly of the horse.

This incredible rocking horse will to raise funds for the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool which cares for over 270,000 children every year and operates the largest children's emergency department and children's trauma centre in the country. Paul knows the hospital well and believes his mother Mary, who was a nurse, may even have worked there for a time. Funds will be used to purchase life-saving medical equipment as well as arts and play activities for their young patients.
