Highlights of 2013

What a fantastic and exciting year we had at Stevenson Brothers in 2013. We have been involved in a wonderful charity project, displayed our rocking horses at the amazing Lapland UK, were nominated and commended for excellence in family business and met lots of wonderful rocking horse fans at events all over the country. We also joined the rest of the world in celebrating the birth of Prince George in July and the rest of the UK in cheering on Andy Murray at Wimbledon.

Some of our favourite highlights are detailed below and a few of our favourite photos of the year are also featured on this page. You can see more photos from the year in our 2013 photo gallery.

BBC Radio 5 Live interview and exhibiting at Cheltenham Racecourse

Back in March, we had the fantastic opportunity to exhibit again at Cheltenham racecourse, not only did we meet some fabulous rocking horse fans but we were also interviewed by BBC Radio 5.

Photo-shoot with Nicki Macfarlane for her beautiful bridesmaid dress collections

Moving into the summer months, June certainly kept us busy and we had the opportunity to have our Rocking Zebra and some of our rocking horses photographed with the beautiful bridesmaids dresses by Nicki Macfarlane.

Her award winning designs are regularly featured within leading UK bridal publications and of course her dresses were seen at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. It was fantastic to see the bridesmaids playing with the rocking zebra and horses during the photo-shoot.

Red Ribbon Award nomination and Commendation for Excellence from the National Family Business Awards

July saw us receive a nomination for a Red Ribbon Award at this year's National Family Business Awards. These awards are held to recognise some of the leading companies within the family business sector. We were incredibly honoured to have been nominated for this award.

We were also thrilled to receive a Commendation for Excellence award at the event, and in addition we were runner-up in the Customer First category.

Exhibiting at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and receiving a Highly Commended certificate for the presentation of the stand, for the 3rd year in a row

Our week at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show was an absolute delight, as it is every year and we were thrilled to be awarded a Highly Commended certificate for the presentation of our stand for the 3rd year in a row!

Rocking at Browns London Headomism event

It was a delight for us to be invited to show our rocking horses at Browns fashion store to celebrate Ascot week.  Our rocking horses looked fabulous alongside designs from the likes of milliners Stephen Jones, Aurora Ozma and Moody & Farrell.

Rocking in Pennsylvania

We are thrilled to be working with Carrie Kohs of PucciManuli who opened her first shop in Ardmore, Pennsylvania last year. This old-world style toy emporium stocks a wide range of unique toys for children of all ages, including our very own rocking horses.

Featured in British Vogue

Fantastic to see our horses featured in British Vogue in their feature of ‘must-have’ products for the Royal Nursery.
